One of the highlights for our academy students every year is the Student Leadership Conference. Last year, due to the Caldor Fire that started August 14, 2021, the student leaders gathered at Camp Cedar Falls in Southern California. And in 2020 the event was completely virtual. But this year, they returned to Leoni Meadows in Northern California. Evidence of the fire scars is still very apparent at Leoni Meadows, where the Caldor Fire burned nearly 222,000 acres in the Eldorado National Forest and other areas of the Sierra Nevada. But thankfully, 190 student leaders and 90 sponsors and staff were able to gather at Leoni Meadows last weekend for leadership activities, inspiration, networking with other student leaders, team building, and renewing their spiritual experiences.
