How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!”
The Riverview Christian Academy students in grades K-4 decided to help bring good things to the less fortunate.
The Reno homeless shelter can have anywhere between 200 to 400 homeless individuals residing in the facility at one time.
Every third Sabbath, the Riverview church serves a hot meal at the shelter. In talking with the residents there, it was discovered that the greatest need reported appears to be the need for socks.
In response to this need, church members contributed to the purchase of brand-new socks for the homeless, and the K-4 students joined together to bag up 470 pairs of socks to meet this need. The children were excited that they were able to do something small to make a great impact.
